Caddie Program

Applications for the 2024 Great Oaks Caddie Program are now closed. Applications for the 2025 season will be available in March of 2025.

Great Oaks Country Club is proud to offer an excellent work experience to young men and women ages 13 and up. Caddies at Great Oaks Country Club can expect to receive valuable training and experience in an environment where they are expected to act as adults at all times. In addition, they will be able to surround themselves in the world of golf, which is a perfect setting for those looking to further their game, or even for those that are just getting started.

Training: Our training program consists of up to 3 on or off course lessons taught by the golf staff and our most experienced caddies. Each class will last appx 2 hours, and the entire course will occur within 1 week, depending on weather and the availability of the golf course. Applicants are expected to have the available time to be able to make each class, which will take place on weekdays from 4-6PM. IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THE TRAINING PROGRAM, DO NOT APPLY.

Work: Once training is completed and applicants pass a written test based on what was taught during the lessons and basic golf knowledge, qualified individuals will be eligible to caddie at Great Oaks. Our main work days are going to be Saturday and Sunday mornings beginning early May until mid-October. Once school gets out for the summer, there are ample opportunities to work on the weekdays as well. We ask that caddies generally show up for work between 6:00 am-8:00 am on weekends, weekday times will vary. If this sounds like a schedule that you are not willing to commit to, please do not apply.

Requirements: Applicants must be 13 years of age or older by April 1, 2024. After completing training and being accepted as a new caddie, each caddie under 18 years of age needs to pickup a work permit application from Great Oaks and a caddie agreement. The work permit needs to be completed by the caddie’s school office. Completed work permits and caddie agreements must be returned to Great Oaks before work can begin. A required caddie uniform will be provided with a cost of $40.

Great Oaks Country Club is also an active contributor to the Western Golf Association and the Evans Scholar Foundations, both of which are huge contributors to the caddie program. For more information, visit the Western Golf Association website.
